Past art show
Sherry Thurston has recently created a set of paintings that belong to a set she calls "patina" - the green effect similar to that of anodized copper. Most of these images use this style.
During the month of July 2009, Sherry was the featured artist at Greater Topsail Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center where she picked a series of works that reflected her home community: Sneads Ferry’s fishing village and Topsail Beach. She hopes you will feel the coolness of the sky and water through the patina colors and enjoy the delicate texture modeled on the works painted on canvas in acrylic. Sherry created her artworks in small sizes up to large for those whose needs apply to size and price. Her thoughts were to help those who want to collect original art but need to start with something small and special. Also she brought in two large watercolors that she used salt resist to get some interesting textures.
